The Monroe Area Rebel Soccer Club and Monroe’s High School Soccer teams are primarily funded by donations and fundraising. Throughout the year, the club holds several fundraising events. Volunteers are the core of our organization. If you are interested in helping, visit our contact page and let us know how you can help.
Monroe Cheese Days Brat Stand
MARS operates the brat stand at the Monroe Cheese Days festival. Help is needed setting up, tearing down, organizing volunteers and other tasks.
4th of July Soccer Tournament
The 4th of July soccer tournament has been running for more than 10 years. Participants come from neighboring towns (Brodhead and Beloit to name a few), and countries (Brazil!). Truly a community event and a fun time for the whole family that you won’t want to miss. 5v5 for 2nd – 5th grade & 6v6 for 6th grade – adult.
Other volunteering opportunities:
Many of our coaches started with little or no soccer background. MARS pays for our coaches to attend any necessary training. The most basic course lasts just three hours. We also have highly trained coaches from Madison work with our teams and coaches occasionally. Coaching requires patience, organization, and a positive attitude.
Team managers or coordinators often help with various administrative duties in support of the team’s coach. Sometimes they are asked to write articles for the newspaper about recent games, or act as a liaison between the team and the board for various club-wide activities.
This is definitely a working board. Members attend general board meetings on a monthly basis and often take the lead on key projects like fundraisers, field coordination, camps, or managing our finances.
MARS is currently responsible for mowing the MTX field and striping at Moose and MTX. Striping either field will take about an hour ever couple of weeks.
